I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at Weber State University. My research focuses on textual analysis, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, climate finance, and international finance. My work examines how corporate disclosures, governance mechanisms, and financial markets interact to influence firm behavior and decision-making.
I am passionate about creating an engaging learning environment that helps students connect financial theory with real-world applications. Throughout my academic career, I have taught courses including Financial Institutions and Markets, Introduction to Finance, Business Statistics, and Case Studies in Finance. I strive to foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and practical problem-solving to prepare students for successful careers in finance.
Before joining Weber State University, I served as an instructor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), where I taught finance and business courses while completing my PhD in Finance. During my doctoral studies, I was also invited to serve as the primary instructor for Financial Institutions and Markets at California State University San Marcos, teaching in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. This opportunity further strengthened my commitment to student-centered teaching and reinforced my belief in bridging academic concepts with practical financial decision-making.
My research has been presented at leading academic conferences and focuses on topics such as corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, environmental and climate-related finance, ESG, textual analysis, and international finance.
